FAQs
What should I wear for my portrait session?
Wear what makes you feel comfortable and represents your personality. While not a rule, I recommend avoiding busy patterns or bright colors. Ideas for multi-outfit packages can include dressy, casual, athletic, uniforms, etc. While school athletic uniforms are encouraged, solid color athletic attire can also make for unique photographs.
In addition to outfits, I highly encourage that you can bring props to the photo shoot that are meaningful to you such as musical instruments, sports equipment, letterman jackets, vehicles, etc.
Senior photos are intended to be an expression of who you are right now, which can include extra-curricular activities that are representative of your personality.
Please make sure that all outfits/uniforms are clean and wrinkle-free (this helps with editing).
Recommendations for photo shoot location(s)?
Colorado Springs has an abundance of incredible outdoor locations great for Senior Portraits including (but not limited to) Garden of the Gods, North Cheyenne Canon Park, Bear Creek Regional Park, Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Fox Run Regional Park, Ute Valley Park and Downtown Colorado Springs. In addition, we can do our photo shot at your high school athletic field or at your home.
Studio photo-shoots can also made available.
What types of payment do you accept?
Credit/Debit Card, Cash, check and Paypal are accepted. Full payment is due on the date of your photo shoot.
When will my images be available?
Typically a selection of a few preview images may be made available within 48-hours, with all images delivered within 3 weeks. Print orders made through my website (fulfilled through a professional 3rd party print shop) have a typical turnaround time of 1-3 business days.
*Please confirm with your school the date in which photos must be submitted for the yearbook. Session dates within 7-days of the submission due date will be subject to a $50 rush fee.
Where are you based?
I am based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but can be available across the front-range region for additional travel costs.
What type of gear do you use?
I photograph with professional Sony Full-Frame mirrorless cameras and Sony G-Master lenses. I prefer to use prime lenses for my portrait work as I find that the look and feel they provide is superior to zoom lenses. In addition, I like to use a combination of natural light and off-camera-flash to capture vibrant, and colorful images.
Weather and Rescheduluing
If you have lived in Colorado for any length of time you know that the weather can be incredibly unpredictable. Wind especially can be a challenge for photo sessions. If the weather is not cooperative with the booked photo session date/time, I will contact you directly to reschedule. If for some reason you are unable to make your booked photo-session work, please contact me to reschedule.
